White-tail Buck art 2

Here is another buck that I used Fractalius and oilpaint filters on, along with a texture. I tried cloning out the right side branches, but the image looks bare when they are gone. The original can be seen in the Wildlife gallery, from a couple of weeks ago. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Rob, this is exceptional! Looks like a fine oil painting.
Can't think of a thing that would improve this - just great!!

It is a nice iconic photo. I saw the original (before adding the photoshop filters). And in my opinion the original one, was very strong, and did not require additional photoshop processing. I understand that this version is dedicated to the "Photo Art Gallery".

I liked the original very much also, but working up a different version for Photo Art is both creative and fun. Excellent work on both images!

Excellent image to begin with and very nice subtle use of filters and textures. Very nicely done.

Thanks for the comments. Raied, I understand your point, and I agree that the original is very strong. It is one of my best buck photos ever. However, Sandy put it nicely that working up a photo art version was both fun and allowed some creative freedom. It was also a great learning experience as I used slightly different methods than I normally do in a photo like this.

That's a stately buck, Rob. I'll have to go look at the wildlife post, but my guess is that your "art" treatment has done a lot for what would be an otherwise distracting background. It looks like there's a couple of branches in the urc that dodged the art treatment. Yep, he's just as stately in the wildlife shot. There I found the oof stuff in the lrc somewhat distracting, here it blends in completely. Nice work on both images.

Rob,

Great shot of this guy. It's not as busy as the last shot and highlights the buck better. Well done! :toast:
