This little screech owl came to the zoo from a local rehab. As a young one it was very fluffly and somewhat shy.

Hi John. Thanks for posting this. This little guy is really cute!!
Hindsight is 20-20, and you while you got the eyes and beak in acceptably sharp focus, to my eye at least, you might consider in the future using a smaller aperture / larger f/number and trading that off against the exposure and ISO. For example, as I think this little baby owl probably wasn't moving around rapidly, maybe you could hav picked up two stops by going to 1/50s. Then maybe you could have picked up two more by going to ISO 800. So then you might have had the same exposure at f/22 which would have improved the depth of acceptable range of sharpness considerably. (gee ... hope I did those calculations right LOL). But even if didn't, you will see the point. It is very nice as is, might have been a tad nicer had the talons been in sharper focus. My 2 cents

I guess that look could be interpreted as being shy. . . or possibly threatening. Either way, he looks like he wishes you would go away! Very cute little fluffy guy. Love all the details visible on his face, especially the blue eyes with pink eye rims. However, I also wish the bottom area could also be in focus as John mentioned.
