I will try to address this sort of in order of how I see my mind seeing and processing it. First, I really do not like your choice of a black background, but I could be pursuaded otherwise, I suppose. What it does is to make the subject the negative space. Maybe that is your intention? Golf balls are very often white and a drive would be very easy to lose in the foggy gray sky.

If this had a white background and a very thin black stroke frame, then I think I would tend to see the trees and the actual golf course as more the subject.

The mind tries create meaning out of what is essentially ambiguous. So, while it may not be your intent, I find myself looking at this image and seeing a sort of existential spectrum where some of the trees clearly exist, whereas others are merely suggested, and, one must presume, still others are there but invisible.

Also, I see myself seeing this flow from left to right, yet another example of how the absence of form in the highest luminance area and its sheer size makes the shadow where the eye tends to go first. And so that is why it goes from left to right.

This deviates from what one might expect to see in a landscape -- man and nature -- but not obviously so without your title, and so is this yet another case where it is we the observer who is the man part of it? Implied but not explicitly shown?

More questions than answers, I'm afraid ...  :wavey: :toast: :jump:

I do like the space in sky, I think there is to much black on left & right, a smaller border would be great, and I also wished it was larger, it would have more of an impact. otherwise very well seen. :toast:
