This was taken during the fall and converted to B&W in NIK.

The bright leaves make this look a lot like infrared. Your spirit has a very interesting form. To me, it seems to be munching on a sapling. I am debating whether the large tree on the right helps or not. On further consideration, I think you should crop into the tree, thus eliminating the isolated strip on the right.

Oh dear, I would not want to be hiking near dark and come across the silhouette of that tree! This is every child's nightmare of what is lurking in the dark woods. Great find, Wayne and the B&W treatment helps direct one's attention to the scary shape. The lighter leaves work well for a background to the darker tree shape. I also wonder if this wouldn't have even more impact without the large tree trunk on the right in the picture. But great as is too.

Very nice detail in the tree trunks and I like the infrared feel in the canopy of leaves.
