Mid-croak - Bullfrog

A common species, but I had no success catching one in mid-croak until recently. I would have liked more DOF, but wanted to keep the ISO down.

Nikon D300; 300mm; f9 @ 1/1250th; ISO 400; HH; approx 50%FF.

All comments and suggestions most welcome.

Really nice comp, Tom. I like being able to see the legs and feet under the water. The DOF is good. The light is strong, but very well controlled, and I like the resulting bright colors and detail.

Strong, eye-catching image, Tom! I like the bright lighting and vivid colors in this fine frog shot. Good comp; I like his pose and puffed up throat. Great capture!

Excellent detail on that head! The DOF is fine for me - the head is sharp and the rest slightly OOF draws attention to the head.
Fine image!

Nice shot. I like the colors and the detail on the head. The image, in my opinion, well describes the essence of amphibians: in the water and out of the water.

I've tried to get green frogs in mid croak and it's hard. You did well here with dof where it's needed most and a nice view through the water.

How nice to catch him mid croak! Nothing likes to croak when I am around...I would imagine you had to wait a long time! Great shot!

I like the low point of view. I don't think I've ever seen marks like that on the frog's throat before. The eye is in excellent focus and the gold and black really draws the viewer's eye. Nice job!
