Naconiche Morning

I took this image while canoeing Lake Naconiche as I do quite often. It was a foggy morning with no wind. The image really wasn't one I thought much about until I posted it on Facebook and got many compliments. Haunting, mysterious among other words were used to describe it and my wife says it's one of my best images.

This is really nice. I guess we need to listen to our wives. This tells a nice story: one wonders what they will see once they get into the canoe and start exploring this "mysterious" land. :toast:

Gary,
This is very nice, you captured the feel of early morning on the lake quite well with the glassy water, the lifting fog and the morning light. There is nothing better than being out on the water at either end of the day. Well done.
The image does need a slight clock wise rotation to straighten the horizon.

This a very lovely image, but it is unfortunate that the signature isn't over on the lower right corner in muted luminance. Where it is, it literally ruins the image for me because of the contradiction it presents. You can rip me for this, but I'm just reporting my experience. Take it for what it's worth. Let the image drive and your signature take a back seat.

I appreciate the comments and critiques. It is no problem to move the signature to the other side and make it smaller. The camo bag is just part of canoeing and has to sit there to help balance the canoe. If I had planned this shot I could have left the bag in the car or on the dock but you can't plan a shot like this very easily. When the opportunity presented itself I took the shot camo bag and paddle and all. thanks again for the helpful hints and compliments.

I love how the trees emerge out of the light fog. The canoe is great. A very peaceful image
