Tired Vireo

This was taken during last Spring's migration. Only the third time I've seen this species. Shortly after landing this Red-eyed Vireo seemed to yawn - maybe he had a hard night?

Nikon D300; 500mm; f6.3 @ 1/160th; ISO 320; HH; approx. 50% FF.

All comments and suggestions most welcome.

I'm a bit torn on this one. I bird came out very nicely, but I feel the background luminosity overpowers the bird. My eye tends to be drawn to the background. But I like the bird-nice pose with the mouth open.

Really nice pose with the open beak, and great perch and BG. I agree to darken the BG a bit.
The large version is fairly soft.. maybe just a bit more cropping than the image can handle.

You have steady hands sir! The softness in the large version seems to be from the bird opening its mouth? The feet and lower body are sharp. I really like the beak position, shape and red eye. I hope you get to see many more of these birds. Thanks for sharing!
