Fainting Magnolia

This really does look like a fainting lady, Lucy. I like all the details on the bud (?) and the right leaf. Nice find for the theme.

Thanks Carolyn. This very "un-steel" magnolia cracked me up, the minute I saw her swooning. This is the spent bloom....The large (pineapple-looking) center will be the basis where the red seeds will develop. To the left and bottom are leaves. But her wrinkled arm is actually a shriveled petal. All the other petals have fallen off the bloom.

Swooning (sp) magnolia to be sure. The conversion allows you to see the shapes and ignore the tell tale signs of aging when the bud dies. Have no idea what anthropomorphizing is but it works well here.

Sure does look like she's holding a hand to her head. Neat seeing. I'd like to see this with reduced contrast to better show off the details in the base of the seed head.

sorry Mark...the base was nondescript. The pretty red bumps did not show up very well here. Oh, I anthropomorphise a lot of things Patricia. That's just a quick way of saying, that you are giving non-human creatures and objects human-like qualities. Like a flower "swooning" in the heat.

And Carolyn.....here's a photo of the mature seeds erupting.........

Very cute, Lucy. I like the imagery.
