Along Eagle Creek Trail

Well known oak grove along Eagle Creek Canyon trail, Columbia River Gorge. Happened to catch the light 2 early springs ago on my way back from a successful visit to Punch Bowl Falls. Completely forgot about this and just found it again.

Great tree portrait! I particularly like how you've isolated the tree against the dark BG...

Love the purple field in the foreground and tree isolation. :toast:

What a wonderful tree, lots of character. The field of flowers is a nice lead in. Great image.

What makes this image for me is the brilliance of the tree standing in front of the shaded background. The foreground of wildflowers gives a good foundation.

I like how you have used the high contrast here to isolate the tree against the dark background. With more detail in the background the tree would not stand out very well. You definitely made the most out of the difficult lighting here.

Daniel,

The field of grass and flowers is sure bright, but I'm really enjoying that contrast between this and the dark background. The lovely and beautifully lit tree just seems to bring the two contrasts together. Excellent image and nicely processed.

Absolutely gorgeous! As others have said, the way you isolated the tree against the background is awesome. The purple flowers are icing on the cake.
