Continuing my series of images from the lion kill we witnessed...here's one of the 3 lionesses keeping a constant eye on the quarry...and lying low with the absence of foliage cover on this plain.

Techs:
Nikon D3s with Nikkor 500mm f4 VR-II
f5.6 @ 1/800 SS @ ISO-2500
pretty much full frame as shot

Great one Morkel! I'm really looking forward to seeing the entire series, what an experience to have witnessed from start to finish.

I didn't expect you to continue to tease us with more images of the lionesses waiting to explode. I want the full monty!

You sure know how to build up suspension Morkel! I simply love the Nossob and Auob river valleys and for that I appreciate this typical scene. Yet, I feel that this image might work well in a sequence (depending on the rest of it), but as a stand alone image it does not move me much to be honest. I am very eagerly anticipating your next post though.

Great scene Morkel.Looks like the peaceful tranquility of the warm evening is about to be broken. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

Lovely, I really like the patience speaking from this pose combined with the soft colours and light!
