Overlook Overlooked

I've never shot Green River overlook, or at least I don't remember ever shooting it. I might have taken a couple of snapshots in the mid-90s. So, I decided to dedicate this last Sunday to it.

I captured both with my 5D MII and my 8x10. The 8x10 shots were all with the long lens, and the 35 shots were mostly wide angles. Now, I'm thinking I might have done well to get wide angles with the 8x10. Maybe next time.

Michael, this is a great image: wonderful light. I like the way you included the rabbit brush in the foreground. It catches the light nicely and softens the overall impression of stark expanses of rock. Some country!. nice job.

I really like the depth of the image and the color. It is a bit dark for me though.

This is certainly a grand scene, Michael. The shadows do define the landscape in a way, but overall, imho, they're too dark and dominant (i.e., overpowering) in the image. I can see why you want to back to this place; wow, what a view!
