Happy Holidays to everyone!

This is an image from a recent snowshoe trip in the Deschutes National Forest of Oregon. The copper colored Ponderosa Pines contrasted beautifully with the fresh snowfall.

Canon S100, handheld (I'm amazed how well this turned out!)
1/100 sec at f/4, ISO 80

The large version is very nice and the sharpness and quality is surpurb for hand held. I find the overall color a little strange. There's plenty of blue which is normal for this type of scene but there seems to be too much magenta or red. It does look nice this way, so maybe I shouldn't be so picky.

Happy Holidays to you and your family too Scott.

I like the separation you achieved between the copper colored tree trunks.

I like this very much, Scott, although I feel there is a bit too much blue cast. I don't have a problem with the bark color; other than the blue, it is much as I remember Ponderosa Pine from my younger days. Thanks for the holiday wishes. Merry Christmas!

OK, my take on this is one of something comng forward and dominating the frame. Like some troop; tree-troops, wanting to march forward even though they are rooted. Ya know? It's like these trees have an attitude in the snow.

That's how I see it.

Scott,

Beautiful winter scene. I love the ponderosas too and the color of the trunks looks good to me. I would agree with some other comments though, the bg color, snow in the trees, etc. is a little blue - or something, perhaps just oversaturated in the blues? Wouldn't want to lose the nice trunks though.

Really nice comp and color, and the light is just as sweet.
