Christmas fungi
by Peter Cross
Out in the local nature preserve on the day before Christmas when I saw the group of mushrooms. This was a spot that I passed at least once a week on my visits, so I was surprised to see such a big grouping. These are big mushroom, too. Some are 4-5 inches across. Either I had not been paying attention or these grew really fast (it's been very wet in no. CA this month). Anyway, I thought this was worthy of a few shots so fired off a few. I decided this was the best spot to post but I'm open to moving if that is needed. I get a feeling of the Hoh Rain Forest as I look at this, although this is hundreds of miles south of it. Guess it's the color and dampness on a foggy morning. Critiques and comments welcomed.
