Rockscape 5

OK, back to rocks again. The fifth in my current series. This one was also taken over the Thanksgiving holiday, along with the others. Leafscapes and rockscapes really make my day - I so enjoy the subtle colors and variations in shapes and sizes, as well as the differing lines, curves, and forms.

Your thoughts are always greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Very appealing Bill, It has a very natural look, and it takes a good eye to see it, compose it and pull it off, and you did all of that. I like this very much. Excellent work.

Bill, the glowing and comforting warm tones contrasted by the cooler ones work very well for me. I also enjoy the kind of flow in your composition.

A Happy New Year to you!

The diagonal coloring in the rocks is very nice and the scattering of pine needles adds a lot of interest and really pulls the image together.

Bill,

The detail and composition are great but this one is just not spinning my beanie. Maybe its the random randomness of the pine needles, if that makes any sense.

Wonderful Bill! So much to explore, even in this tiny little scene. Great range of color and the texture and details are excellent. Just my view, but I could see this being a skosh darker, no more than 1/2 stop though, and a minor suggestion.

Really enjoying these finely detailed intimates.

Happy New Year!

The colors and contrasts here are quite appealing, and the needles add some nice context. I agree completely with your assessment of the things to enjoy about rocks.

I totally agree about your comment here, Bill. Nature has a lot to offer up for our photographic and viewing enjoyment. This scene is a prime example in both geological with the rock formation, as well as the fallen pine needles adding to the variety from the botanical world. Nicely seen and captured all the way around...
