Northern Shoveler, female, "Anas clypeata"
Canon 7D, ISO 320, -0.67 ev, F/7.1, 1/500,lens on tripod
I used pretty tight composition from the bottom to pull the viewer eye on the beak under water, hope you like it!
C&C welcome, have a wonderful day....... :wavey:

Very nice perspective. Nice sharpness at the eye. I do wish for a bit more room at the bottom.

A really different look at a species I have never been able to get close to.

I think more room at the bottom would not detract from the underwater bill. It's such a strong focal point here.

Good stuff!

Fantastic view of his shoveling! Really enjoyed looking at the larger version, and the details like his wet head and the water droplet on his cheek. An all-around engaging, interesting shot! :toast:

Great low angle of this bird which is difficult to get near in my parts... I really like the bill slightly beneath the water - wish there was a touch more room though

The low angle you shot this image works very well and shows the action captured that you had intended to .I would prefer just a tad more room at the bottom though.

I wasn't sold on the shot looking at the thumbnail, but when looking at the bigger photo, the part that makes it for me is the tip of the bill just under the water...PERFECT way to show a shoveler doing it's thing. Nicely done. Would like it a bit less tight though.
