What caught me with this one is the palate of different colors. Living down here you know I get my share of desert shots but this one seems a bit unique.

Nikon D200, Sigma 10-20@20mm, 1/2sec@f18, tripod.

Agree on the colors. Very unique for down there. Think some better light would go a long way here! Head back if ya can with some scraping warm sunrise/sunset :)

Bob, this is a nice display of desert color that I would not have expected either. I like the contrast between the green and oranges and their textures and the sense of depth that draws toward the bg. well done. Chet

Cool image Bob. I really like the splash of oranges; but as a former botany person I would like to see the orange plants a little more distinctly. Maybe a slightly higher camera position. The overcast sky doesn't bother me too much, but a lot of stuff needs to be exciting in the foreground/midground with this sky.

I agree about the uniqueness of this image and I too agree that the unique combination of color sets this one apart. The subtle light of this image further draws my attention to the foliage. Well framed and presented.

Very interesting color palette here Bob. I need to get back down there sometime. I really enjoy the stand of saguaros in the background.

The yellows and oranges in the foreground are wonderful and I like how they pull interest to that one saguaro. The overcast works well for letting the foreground colors shine.

Bob,

I really like the diversity of color and agree that it's the colors here that make this one stand out. And even beyond that, I think you've crafted and excellent composition. No nits or suggestions.

A bit unusual and better for it. I found this eye-catching and wonderfully satisfying in terms of color and texture. Love your composition
