This is one from last december taken at Belchenfluh/Switzerland. In the distant you can see the swiss alps.
Usually it takes only about 20 minutes from the parking lot to hike to this place. But on that morning the road over the pass was closed and we had about 3 feet of snow and it took us almost an hour to get to this place.

Beautiful! Great light and I love the clarity and mood. The Swiss Alps make for a wonderful background! This is really nice work Bill. :toast: The large version is fantastic and makes me feel like I'm right there beside you. Excellent processing too.

Very good composition Bill! The snow covered foreground sets the stage nicely. I also like the mountain range in the bg. It adds a lot. It is small, but has a lot of meaning for this composition.

The clarity of the larger version is stunning. The sharpness of the tree and the foreground ridges against the low lying clouds creates a 3D feeling like the old Viewmaster 3D viewers and the Alps in the distance add an interesting tension. Very well done!

Another excellent composition and grand scene captured. I like the placement of the sun held up by the tree. The layers created a lot of depth. Very well done!

Bill,

The light here is just exquisite, especially in the snow, wind-drifted rock. Wonderful thirds composition - there is something of interested and beauty in all parts of the frame - even the snow covered pines in the LR. Beautiful!

Outstanding image, Bill. Excellent light and composition. I used to live in CH and we made many afternoon hikes in BL. Good memories when I look at your photos, though we never caught such a beautiful light. Thanks for posting.
