Deep Water Feeding

It was a good summer for moose. This one had twin calves off-camera right in the shallows. She would plunge down and feed off the bottom for a few moments then rise up and make sure the twins were safe. I had hoped to time it right as her head cleared the water.

I'll say it was a good summer for moose. I liked your last moose photo and this one too. I appreciate the details of the foreground which, to me, adds to the picture. Also thanks for posting the details so that beginners like myself can learn. Now if I could only find Moose

Love the patterns in the water around the moose and the fantastic detail. :toast:

The interesting patterns of the vegetation(?) in the water is what makes this image for me Brad, as well as the water dripping off the Moose. The centered placement of the subject works in this case. I might consider cropping a bit off the top to eliminate the rocks on the shore as these do not add anything to the image and having the moose surrounded by only that textured water would be best IMO. Otherwise this is great as is. :toast:

Cropping out the rocks at the top is a good idea. Love the patterns in the water and water pouring off the moose's jaw and neck.

LIke the others, I love the swirling patterns of the water in the foreground. Could you also please post a larger photo, which would help in analysing the image better?

Thank you all for the valuable feedback. I have not been successful at posting a larger image. I keep getting a message that my file can not be found. I will keep trying!

Very nice image Brad. The color seems right and pleasing and catching the water adds a whole lot to the image. The story around it was also interesting. great work!!! Chet

The writhing lines of vegetation and current make the image! Nice capture.

For future reference, you are only able to post the larger version at the time of the initial posting. Once it is up and has received commentary, that option is no longer. This would have been a nice one to review with more detail, too!
