Gorgeous light, Sandy, and it's really neat to have the full moon in the bg. Did you use a focus memory function on your lens or camera to pull this off? Seeing this just reminded me that I do have that functionality available, though I don't think I've ever taken advantage of it.

Hi, Dennis - the focus was different for each of the images, since the moon was a little further away
But I do use the focus memory often, (Usually on the camera, though, not the one on some long lenses) when focusing on something not in the center of the image, then re-composing.

Very creative use of overlay, Sandy. Excellent composition with out-of-phase wing beats on the crane and the moon in the same diagonal. :toast:

Well done Sharon, not always easy to spot something different. Like the way the wings are opposite on the two birds and the diagonal composition works very well. Graham

Excellent vision well executed. Very nice in flight capture, and great detail in the birds and that awesome moon.

Sweet Photo Sandy

Very nice Sandy. I did however notice some strange shapes in the sky, so I opened the file in PS and did a rather drastic contrast adjustment to bring them out. Is this how the camera blends the exposures, or is this the result of something you did during processing?

If you want me to post it here, drop me an email.

This is amazing, Sandy! I agree with Graham about the way the wings on the two birds are going in opposite directions. Love the sharpness in the moon features too.
