Here's one from a few weeks ago taken on the shores of Lake Champlain not too far from where I live. It's funny, until this past year or so I've neglected the photographic possibilities of this jewel of a lake. I've been spending a lot more time working this amazing resource and it's actually accounted for some of my best work this year.

Looking forward to sharing more from this great spot.

As always thanks for taking a peek.

Beautiful shot, Kurt, I really like the rock placement in the FG as well as the color gradient in the sky. Well done. :toast:

Great light. The composition works well. The long exposure make the water look very nice.

Lovely shot with great light and a compelling comp. As a big fan of enjoying what's local, it's always rewarding to find a jewel nearby. Looking forward to seeing more.

Isn't it funny how we take the area around where we live for granted sometimes? This is a very pleasing composition and the colors look great. Just my personal taste, but I don't really care for the silky water effect caused by the long exposure.

Thanks folks.

Bill: I tend to like some texture in my moving water most of the time but for this I wanted to create a stark contrast between the texture of the rocks and the lake's surface. I found with a faster ss the texture on the water was not very pleasing and certainly didn't aid the composition by providing something to lead or engage the viewer. As always thanks for your thoughts.

Great foreground here, Kurt, with a nice progression of elements all the way through the scene. The sunset color tops it off. Fine image.

Glad your getting to know such a beautiful spot so close within your proximity. The rocks, light, and distant land all balance out very well together. Great job Kurt
