Fog in the Valley

This was from August 2010 off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. It's a classic shot of the sun topping the ridge & casting shadows in the trees & warmly lighting the fog.

Canon 5DII, 70-200 2.8 w/1.4 extender, ISO 100, F11, 1/100 sec.

This has a very surreal feeling to it. The color and comp work very well. There appears to be some movement in the fog which adds to the feeling of the image. Great shot.

lovely enigmatic image. i like everything here but wonder about the slightly different colour to the fog on the right - catches my eye a bit too much to be comfortable.

Stuart,
The color of the fog on the right is due to the fact that it is in the shadow of the ridge & doesn't have the warm light on it. I chose not to warm that up as it is as I saw it. Thanks for the comment!

Absolutely beautiful and almost mysterious in this light, Wick. There's nothing I don't like about this one! This is really fun to explore.

This is an excellent image! The depth and textures are spot-on throughout giving the eye plenty to follow. The motion in the cloud/fog is fantastic. I have never been to the Blue Ridge area, but this is what I imagine it would look like. It is on the travel to list now!
