Tracks left by a loggerhead sea turtle while crossing hard packed coquina sand to dig a nest and lay eggs in the dunes along the Atlantic Coast of Florida. Find the human footprint for scale.

Photo taken in May 2001 on 800 ASA film with a manual focus Minolta x370 camera.

Very cool find, Paul! It took me awhile to find the human (barefoot) tracks but they are very helpful in seeing the scale. Great to see the close-up of these tracks that tell of an amazing journey. However, it would have been interesting to see more of the trail of tracks with some more context of the environment too. Maybe that wasn't possible in this situation though. This is a great documentary image of these tracks and I like the top-down POV.

If you flip it vertical, I think it makes a pretty interesting abstract photo! Love the lines, color & texture.

This is really nice Paul, both artistic with the swirling colors and textures and reporting with the human prints for size reference. It did take me a bit to find the human tracks.

Very interesting and appealing textures and patterns. And WOW, that's some BIG turtle! (especially if that human footprint was made by an adult.)
