Seen at Dawn

Hidden among the pads the waterlily is discovered by the first ray of sun. The dark fades away leaving all types of shades, from very stark to very delicate.

D700, Nikkor 200mm macro - f/32 and ISO 560 - Polarize filter

It reminds me of a Georgia O'Keefe painting. Very nice.

Very nicely done and you are right IMO to describe this in terms of varying shades. Outstanding!

Lovely image, and I certainly would not want to attempt to add anything to your own lovely, poetic description of it.

very subtle and lovely. I also like the underside (TR) of the pads. Didn't know there was such a cool curved pattern under there

Beautifully shown. Like an architectural photo showing the lines and angles plus materials and texture.... clean and pure. Loaded with DOF and detail brought out by the lighting.

Just wonderful, Gigi ! It has your signature all over it - crisp, beautifully lit, almost surreal in feeling. A superb image.
