Photo taken no last weekend, at Iporanga, SP. Brazil.
I was driving towards a farm, where I would photograph the Ornate Hawk-Eagle, then I saw this Rufous-thighed Kite on the road side.

1/1250, f/5.0, Aperture priority, ISO 800, @420mm, -1EV
Canon 7D, Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS + TC 1.4

I cloned out a branch on the top left of the image.

Hi Jefferson: Beautiful bird and capture. Lovely soft OOF background. I would suggest a touch more sharpening on the head as it doesn't appear tack sharp. Maybe those are small bugs flying around ? I can't tell. I would clone them out as I don't see how they add to the image.

Hello Keith,

Hi Jefferson: I think the re-post looks better. The head sharpness is difficult to determine from the smaller version, but I like what you done with the bugs!! Nicely done.

I didn't mind the bugs actually, and I think the repost looks sharper. It seems that the critical focus was on the front of the bird and not on the head. Try to focus on the eye of the subject. Very nice bird, and a good catch. :toast:

Nice capture! I like the repost a bit better and agree about the head sharpness. Excellent bg, perch, pose and subject. Sharon

nice looking bird and setting, Jefferson. I agree with the other comments re: sharpness, and I think that eliminating the bugs was the right move.

Nice detail and eye contact Jefferson. I think the sharpness of the repost is better. The bugs didn't bother me.
