Due to circumstances, I haven't uploaded anything recently, but I have enjoyed all of your posts.
I was in the kitchen just now and looked out the window over the sink, and I thought I'd get the camera out and take a picture of what I saw. Pentax K-5, Tamron 17-50mm at 38 mm, ISO 800, 1/25 s, f/9. Just a snapshot, no attempt to optimize it.
I think what might have caused this is that over the past few years, I've had some vision problems due to floaters and probably cataracts, and the mind overcomes a lot of that, but it has served to make me aware of how our perceptual apparatus affects what the mind presents as The World, you know? And I think probably when I saw this familiar view from the kitchen window, overlooking a hole on a local golf course, it was like the condition of the window reminded me of my own vision issues and that even when we think we have perfect vision, what the mind constructs is still merely that; a construction, not ultimate reality.
Anyway, recognizing the extemporaneous nature of this, all critique will be most appreciated, as usual.

You know, sometimes photography is about a moment; a moment when our ordinary, mundane view of things and events changes into a different view.
Perhaps, for me at least, one aspect of phototography has to do with exploring that limen; that transition zone; between the two ways of seeing.
In any case, it sort of happened to me in this case; in the moment, without prior intent, I had to get out the camera and crank out a shot....
I know we all know all about this feeling and I just want to understand more about where it comes from....
