Olympus E5, ZD300 2.8, 2xTC, ISO200, f9, 1/800 resting on vehicle window

Found this 2nd year Bald Eagle hunting alongside the road yesterday. He was about to land here after spotting something on the ground. This is about a 50% crop.

Really awesome image - the head does get a little lost in the wing but that's minor

Nice, David. I like the tight crop in this case. It's very tough to get the eye to pop at all in the immatures and the tight crop helped with that issue.

excellent pose and quality, but what I love is the fact that he is almost in your eye level, well done :toast:

Hi Dave - this is an outstanding capture...very dramatic. Love the light and low angle (as mentioned above), as well as the intense expression and impressive "landing gear." I guess the comment above re wishing his head was not so camoflagued by his underwing is fair, but then you wouldn't have this great angle or pose, so...

Nice one.

Sweet flight shot of this youngster Dave. Nice feather detail and lowered talons. Great background too.

Awesome pose and you've highlighted the talons well. The beak and eye coloration make it hard to miss the head too

This is so cool! It must have been an awesome experience to see and photograph this! I like that you can see every claw hanging down. Really nice shapness, too. Great shot!

Really nice image with excellent detail. Thee comp seems a bit awkward because of the extended wings. a pano crop would work well here.

Terrific catch, David. I could go for a pano, also, but I wouldn't want to give up those great color layers. Great as is.
