Snowfall

Snowfall in Northeast Texas at one point in time used to happen every 7 years or so, now it seems to happen every 2 years. A blanket of fluffy white snow covers the landscape only to take out the power for some people up to 4 days. At a time when the Flu is running wild earlier than normal it made for some uncomfortable nights for some 4,000 households.

This is just a shot of a pasture gate accessing property that hasn't had many visitors in as long as I can remember. The trees and brush are all overgrown making for a unique winter shot.

A very beautiful winter scene with a superb job with light and white! Excellent image IMO.

This is a very nice scene, on my monitor however it looks like the bright are blown out? Not shure if you can tone that down.

Very nice winter scene. The whites on the bottom appear blown to me. Another place where I wish I was at right now!

Oh yeah, love the mood. Snow can turn the ordinary into something special. Nice and simple comps just work so well when covered in the cold stuff. I especially enjoy the blues and bright whites. I think pushing the exposure is import when shooting snow, but this one seems to be just a bit too much.

Thanks for the feedback. Exposure is sometimes tricky from one computer to another, and though it looked fine on my calibrated monitor it must obviously not look ok from the web (which I can totally see when I pull it up on explorer). I will fix. Again thanks. I'm still trying to find that balance between what I see on the monitor vs what it actually ends up looking like on the web.

I agree with Nick, the bottom is a bit blown, but what a great composition Cristina.

And people think that you can not get good images in the cold winter times. . . HA! Great job.
