Meadow work of art

by Carolyn Derstine

This is an "in place" shot of some wildflowers (type of Ragwort?) in a local meadow. There was sunlight and shade sweeping across the meadow in the background and I was pleasantly surprised to see all the interesting colors in this image when viewing later in my monitor. To me, it looks almost like a painting--a real natural "work of art".

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/7.1 for 1/60 sec. ISO 400. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Superb composition with a MOST pleasing bokeh! I love the yellow/orange of the flowers against the blue BG. Very, very pleasing to look at.

Very pretty, Carolyn. I do like the painterly look and the happy mood. I see this as a get well card. The I wish there was a bit more dof for the flowers, but, overall, this looks like a good compromise for detail in the foreground flowers and the blurry bg.

Carolyn:

Lots of bright colors in this. Glad you provided a larger version which is more pleasing to look at. Like the painterly mood.

Gives me the impression that it blowing in the wind, hence a nice airy feel. Couldn't have found a better background. Excellent.

The yellows and oranges against the streaking blues is really cheery colorful. This one grabs the attention in a good way.

The color contrast is splendid Carolyn! The great ambition of the photographer is to make nature even more beautiful then what it is in the reality; you did it.
Cheers.
