Viewed from my sunporch in a valley in Southern Wisconsin. I never tire of this end to the day as no two are alike. Please offer comments to this image as I am a new photographer and very eager to learn. Thank you.

Beth, this is really beautiful, you have alot to work with. I absolutely love the great contrast you have with the trees. I would maybe crop off the top 1/3 of the sky (the part with the blue), as for me it doesn't add anything dramatic to the scene. Also there looks like some areas are pretty blown out, maybe try to bring them down a bit in PP and see how it looks. Other very nice.

Incredible sunset! I agree with John about cropping some of the sky out...you can still leave a trace of blue...this is a wonderful start!

Beth,
Welcome to NPN and the Landscape gallery. A beautiful sunset and first post here in the gallery. A simple, but effective silhouette. And what a terrific sky! Interesting, that I think the color/sat in the upper half are spot on, but for me, the yellow/orange at the horizon is a little strong. A minor issue though.
Just to add a different opinion, I happen to like the top part and the color contrast between the cool blue of the sky and warm, almost hot colors on the horizon. As far as the "blown" areas, it's not bothering me, especially at this size; it may be an issue if you print this bigger, but in all honesty, we are talking about the sun here and it's understandable even to a non-photographer that this part of the sky is going to be bright. I think it's expected and handled about as well as can be expected.
Thanks for sharing and we look forward to your participation in the galleries and forums. If you haven't already, I would recommend you click on the posting guidelines above just for review and familiarization with NPN. Welcome!
Lon
