Snow!

Well snow is finally on the way for real here in southern New Hampshire. Not just your typical dusting we have seen over the past four weeks ....... but maybe two feet of it with a Nor'easter on the way for the weekend. So I thought I would post this image when we were really whacked with one snow storm after another in early 2011.

Lovely combination of complexity (with the profusion of fine details -- both in the grass and the snow texture) and simplicity, with just grass, snow and light.
The more I look, the more I see in this. Diagonals going every which way with the grass, grass shadows, and snow ripples, all brought together within a larger diagonal composition. The simplicity draws me in, and the complexity close-up keeps me interested.

Keep those snowshoes handy!

Thanks Wayne. Snow shoes are ready, since without them I would only get to this scene and others like it with great difficulty.

Very appealing Eva, the type of scene I always look for after a fresh snow, very nice comp, detail and exposure. Beautifully seen and presented, yup, it's coming today, hope to get out my self.

Very nice Eva. I always enjoy seeing this kind of image and this one is wonderful. I like the small ripples and shadows in the snow as well as the grass. Very nice comp too!
I just shot a picture that looks quite like this while I was in Upper MI.and along Lake Superior.

Like the diagonal movement with the lines on the snow. Simple, yet the details in larger version.. Just nice.
