Laelia anceps repost

I posted this particular image a long time ago with minimal processing. Laelia anceps is found in Mexico and Guatemala and this particular specimen is of typical color for the species. Originally shot with a Pentax *istD and a Sigma 180mm macro in natural light, I removed some dust blotches from the background and applied some sharpening with Topaz Detail 3 which picked up some details that were not evident in the old version. Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day...............Jim

Wow, Jim this is just exquisite! Such beautiful colors and wonderful details in the flowers. Great comp too. My only nit is that in the larger version, there appears to be quite a bit of noise in the green background. This may be a result of your sharpening if you sharpened the whole image instead of just the flower. Other than that, I just love this image! I'm really amazed at the wonderful clarity of the flowers. :toast:

Beautifully processed, Jim ! The added sharpening really brings out the petal textures, and the comp and colouring are perfect for me. Lovely image.

These are spectacular! I see the noise in the background of the larger version and think about how much our sensors have improved over just a few years and how quickly we get "spoiled".

These really pop! Excellent DOF! I think the noise we are seeing is probably a result of the sharpening. It might be better to apply sharpening as a brush to the flowers only... Nice work!

Jim:

Fabulous image with lovely details and the sharp color :toast:

I echo comments by others about the noise which can be removed by further processing. There are still a few dust spots on the base of the top bloom.

The blossoms are lovely and well detailed. The DOF is perfect. I am definitely seeing noise in the BG, easily correctable.
