Broad-billed Motmot

This is another of the images from Panama. We'd come across these guys periodically, but in most instances they were buried too deeply into the forest for any hopes of a decent image. This guy was a little more cooperative and came right to the edge of the forest-where I was able to fire off a few shots.

I cloned out a small piece of debris to the left of the bill.

You're right about these guys loving the deep jungle. Congratulations on finding one in the open, and fine use of the opportunity.

Excellent job nailing a tough exposure. I haven't had much luck with these guys.

I loive these guys - we found a few in Ecuador that were on the edge of the forest, but still high in the trees.
Nice pose here, fine detail, bright eye, and nice BG.
Very nice image!

I love the colors of the bird and the perch he is on. I would think you couln't believe your luck to find him so obligingly posing for you. Nice job with such a generally inaccessible bird.

Nice capture Charles and good job keeping the bright spots in the BG down or toning them down in processing...either way, nice work on it.
