Green-crowned Brilliant

Olympus E-5, 300mm, tripod
f4, 1/60, ISO400

A little tight at the bottom, but maybe otherwise okay for the low light. Photographed at Cataratas del Toro, where a waterfall cascades into the throat of a dormant volcano.

Cropped to vertical. Usual sharpening drill. If you look closely, you can see my camera reflected in the left side of the eye.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful bird Jim. I like the soft background and the natural perch. I agree it's a tad tight, but overall a sharp and pleasing image realizing the limitations of the light.

Nice, Jim. Looks like the dof was shallower than I would have thought for a 300mm, but you must have been close to fill the frame vertically.

This looks like a fairly large hummer and the name fits it well. Wonderful colors and nice viewing pose. The larger image looks like it has some motion blur around the head but what a treat to get so close, way to go.

Neat bird, Jim. A little more space all around would be nice. Looks like critical focus was on the tail. :toast:
