No Giving Up

I didn't post this one in the forums, mainly cause I didn't really look at this one. This was during the heaviest of the morning snow fall as the snow flakes streaked through the exposure gently landing on the water forming ice and slush. I thought it gave it some neat atmosphere, and an image most people probably wouldn't think of for the southwest. As always, comments and critiques appreciated. Large version included.

Very cool capture, Peter. your shutter speed worked very nicely to capture the falling snow flakes. Nice comp also.

Very nice, Peter. I like the texture and shape of the foreground snow. I also like how the color in the foliage compliments the sandstone reds. The falling snow adds an interesting touch as well. Very nice work!!

This is certainly not what I think of as typical for Arizona (even though I have seen it snow in Flagstaff late in the summer.)
Exposure, shutter speed and "mood" all work for me, but the comp leaves me wanting something different. It's the rocks framing the scene on the left side; I wish there were more to see there, because there is not enough of the overhanging rock to ground it as part of the scene. As is, it seems to be sort of hanging in the sky up in the corner, rather than forming a frame for the scene.

That is nice. I especially like the yellowish rocks on the right side. And yes, the softness is nice. Never would have thought it was AZ. Nice one.
