Industrial Skyline

Seacoast NH is not know as an industrial power house, but there is a considerable amount of activity on the Piscataqua River. A client was interested in something other than a standard view of the river landscape, and I came up with this as part of a series. The building is a PSNH coal and wood burning boiler that generates electricity. The ship makes regular stops in Newington to unload coal. This was a long exposure pre-dawn shot.

Very classy shot...I love all the lights & sunbursts, the stillness of the water & the illuminated smoke!

When I look at this, it transcends from an industrial type image to an actual work of art. The colors, especially, are outstanding. The oranges in the middle contrast so beautifully with the dark cyans . Nice and crisp, ideal composition, well crafted and presented. This better hang in somebody's office!

Wow, that's some talent to take something this mundane and industrial and make it this pretty. Lovely light and color. :toast:

My gosh Harry, there's so many wonderful things to see in this image. Only an artist could make something so beautiful out of this scene. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Truly exceptional image! I love the combination of the cold blue/warm pink natural lights and the warm artificial lights. And the reflection is the icing on the cake. This picture is a good example that a beautiful light (and a master photographer  ) can turn even a mundane scene into something special.

Neat look, Harry. I like the colored lights, the perfect reflections, and (I'm guessing) the early sunlight hitting the steam cloud.
