'Morning Has Broken'

I find the very early light can be the most dramatic, but also the toughest to manage.
She was close & I used the 2x ext, so depth of field was hard to come by..
F/8, 1/250th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x & natural light.
I'm thinking of starting a new FB page called "Just Cardinals"
What ya think?

Nice light, Howard. Exposure is right on and warm; and good depth from beak to eye with the 2x.

Real nice details - especially considering the 2X TC you used. Really love that BG color as well

Beautiful light and pose, Howard. One of your loveliest in my opinion.

Very nice. I mostly limit my shooting to early mornings just to get the warmest softest light.

I love the softness of the image from the morning light. The details of the bird are great, I like the position of the perch and the greenery from the branch. The orange of his beak really jumps out, particularly in contrast to the background. A very pleasing image.Thank you.

Wonderful pose and composition plus I like the dark green background. My only problem with morning light is getting up. Nice job in getting this close up.

Yep. Start the fb page with cardinals. They never become tiring. That morning light however soft for the tc is excellent for tones. Love it.
