This shot is my favorite mistake......... Almost every day around 7 -8 AM I am taking my dog Ansel (he is a mix lab/border collie black with white markings..) behind my house for walk in the fields, we are always with the camera. We are very fortunate because around us we have several nests of red tails, owls and coopers...... As usual I let my dog running around, I spotted from the hill how the hawk took off from the nest and just glide around me, pulled the camera from the pouch and started to shoot, but what I didn't know was that I had the camera setting on from last evening when I was shooting the landscape. Here is the result of ISO100, 400 mm, f/11 and 1/160 sec handheld mistake, I was always dreaming about nice panning shot with the bird in frame but this is totally mistake what turned out pretty cool at least for me. After that I was trying several times do the panning shot with the bird in the frame but this one is still better than attempts on purpose!!! I am always telling to everybody just go out and shoot in every position no matter of light, sun location, weather or setting because opportunity maybe never going to be repeated again, and many times the frame looks awesome without any up front planing, C&C welcome, hope you like it!

I especially like the look in the birds eye, and the BG adding to an illusion of speed
