This image is nothing dramatic but it is a place I enjoy visiting because I find something very soothing about it. Please comment and thank you for looking.

Beth,
Thanks for sharing. One of the great things about photography is being able to capture those special places and moments. With that comes the difficulty in conveying that personal connection to the viewer. Nothing wrong with this image, but there is nothing for me to connect with in the same sense that you feel. This certainly looks like a quiet and peaceful spot and I like the s-curve of the little waterway.
Technically, the exposure and colors look good. There's a thin trunk on the right that looks really out of focus - perhaps it was moved during exposure? Also, the bright patches in the background look to be like a field, water, makes me think man-made, but really there's nothing telling me it's not - just an observation.
I'm enjoying the lower half of the image very much; but without the top half I know it doesn't capture all that it means to you.

I do like this Beth, it has a very appealing warm mood, especially on a cold February morning, yes, it does need a little work, but I think Lon covered that, anyway, you brightened my day. Enjoy what your doing, and good things will happen.

Thank you for your comments. As I reviewed the image I think your points are well taken. The creek is on my farm and is a place I go to sit in the morning with my cup of tea. There is almost a meditative silence about the place which is soothing. I realize after reading your comments that I had viewed the image through the soft glow of feelings but when I stand back and look at it critically it falls short in terms of what I hoped it would convey. I'm glad I submitted the image because it has taught me a valuable lesson about interjecting personal feelings into an image rather than the critical faculties needed to capture a really good shot. Thanks.
