This is a location I discovered last december , a day before I took this shot. I already knew this rock wall for years but never made it up there. So last december after christmas day we decided to go with our dog to the Grenchen mountains and so i could might as well looking for some nice spots to photograph this wall. This one was taken on december 31, the last sunrise of 2012.

The sky looks a bit bright Bill but apart from that I think it looks great. Nice depth and detail.

The rock wall is a very nice feature especially with its reflected light. Great color and depth!! Chet

Beautiful light and color, Bill. While the cliff on the left leads my eye from the foreground to the background, the composition feels a bit heavy on the left side. For me the strength of this image lies more in the colorful sunset so I think I would rather see less of the cliff.

I have been reading more recently about composition as that is the area that I need to improve the most in my own photography so it's at the forefront of my mind. I apologize if I sound like I am over analyzing a beautiful image!!

My eyes are drawn immediately to the rock in the foreground with its beautiful luminescence.I love the texture of the rock and the trees on the top of it suggest its grand scale. The sky is pretty but the least compelling part of the image for me. But it is the kind of image that takes your breath away and makes you wish you could have been sharing the experience with you. Super job.

Good use of diagonals Bill. Beautiful sky and warm light on the cliff face. I wish there were some warm light on the right foreground slope but a wonderful image none the less.

Bill, the diverse diagonals make for an appealing composition to me, and I appreciate the rockface at the left as main area of interest. The reflected glow on these rocks is subtle and wonderful to my eye.

Awesome comp and lighting, Bill. The left rocks guides my eye really nicely to the distance. No suggestions from me. Nice work!

I enjoy how the protruding point leads the way into the colorful lines above. Nice work balancing the highlight/shadow areas below. I could really see someone standing on that big rock out there!

My favorite part about this scene is the rock on the left...I def would not want it cropped at all! The snow accentuates the flatness of it, as well as the trees which lace it. Nice work!
