Eagle scape

It was a grey and very windy day, with no sunlight. Few eagles were in the area, but did spot a few. This one was on the far side of the Illinois river from where we were, but decided to try a shot anyway. Decided to try a pano composition.

Canon PS SX 50
1/200 @ F-6.5 ISO 400
4.3-215 @ 215mm (1200mm-35mm equiv)
Cloudy sky, dull light
Convert from RAW.
Could have used a highter ISO, but felt the quality was poor considering the distance and light.

Hi John:

I think this is an interesting experiment, but honestly for me, it doesn't work. The bird is small enough in the frame and blends in so much with the tree limbs that it doesn't pop.

I like the composition and the idea of this image, John. There's a bright circular spot (possibly an opening in the trees just under halfway up and toward the right hand side that keeps drawing my eye away from the eagle.

I like the panoramic view and the placement of the eagle. I don't mind the smallness of the eagle either in relationship to the branches. But I do wish it was brighter as the natural light is pretty dull so I think brightening this and adding more contrast and maybe a crop off the right where the bigger limbs start and then whatever off the left to keep it the thirds might enhance it better.
