One from the summer at Bombay Hook. I'm not sure about the bright sides of the back side of the leaves...are they too distracting?

Love the comp, and the curling leaves seem to add a sense of motion. The bird is well lit right down to the delightful rim light, and seeings you mentioned it I'd tone down the one bright leaf to the left of the head.

It was the bright sides of the leaves that sparked my interest when I saw the thumbnail, so I wouldn't change a thing!

I like this, Sharon. The bright leaves are just a bit distracting, particularly the upper left one and the bright one to the right. I might tone those two down just a trifle, but I really like the overall composition.

Really like this contrasting BG that compliments, and the pose/head-turn I see Sharon.
Very good detail/DOF, beautiful warm light too.
The leaves look fine to me, great comp!
