Tree of Life

After seeing Peter's image Waiting for the Sun, I was inspired to dig out my image, of what I believe to be the same tree taken from a different angle just before sunset. I took my image back in 1983 while on a solo venture through the four corners region of the southwest. When I took my family to the Grand Canyon in 2007, I could not find this exact tree though it was on my list to photograph. Maybe I saw it but didn't recognize it, since it appears to have succumbed to the forces of nature in Peter's image.

Whoa, there's green on there! Crazy how much difference it can make having a bare tree and one that still clings to life. Looks like you had some nice light, though I wish there were clouds to fill in the sky, although not much you can do when they don't show up.

Love that wonderful warm light gracing this tree, Eva, and the subtle light on the canyon beyond. A superb testament to this tree, showcasing the fragile hold this tree had on the edge of the canyon, a hold that 30 years later seems to have been lost unfortunately. Outstanding.

An exceptional capture for me, Eva. I appreciate the wonderful separation of the tree from the background. Really a story telling image to me. Besides, a great tribute to Ektachrome, which I also used for many years (as already my parents did).

Eva, This is very nice, and also quite interesting to see this tree then and now..30 years...Wow.. I enjoying the warm light with the wonderful clarity of the foreground in contrast with the hazy canyon.

The light on the tree, it's character, and the nice light and view beyond into the canyon overcome the bright sky in this. Very well done.
