Sunrise breakfast
by Jim Lockhart
An elk enjoying his early morning breakfast at the Grand Canyon. Couldn't decide between this photo and one I had taken this week of a wintry scene while out xc skiing. Of course, that one had a bluish color cast, so decided to go with this one, depicting the golden light in the early morning. Would like to say I found this guy out in the wilds somewhere, but he was actually right behind our lodge at the canyon. Talked to a young lady later that day doing "Poop Patrol" due to the number of elk grazing in the vicinity. Taken with my Canon SX30, ISO 400, f/4.5, 1/40, 130mm, manual white balance. A big thank you to Darwin Wiggett for his very useful lesson on preparing images for posting using Photoshop Elements. Besides resizing, I darkened some of the brighter areas with PSE. Comments and suggestions always welcome.
