Rubble to Rebirth 1

The Rhode Island coast's recovery from Sandy is slow but ongoing. They keep delaying the reopening of my beloved Sachest NWR due to the winter storms. This photo shows Easton's Beach in Newport--the rocks and other debris thrown up on the beach and the damage to the wall that separates the beach from the pavement outside. The piece of driftwood (I did not digitally enhance the color except for a touch of overall vibrance to the photo) lends the only real color to this otherwise rather bleak scene. Taken two weeks ago on an overcast day.

Nancy,
Rough weather this season for you guys but the bright side is that spring is only a few weeks away, hang in there.
What type of vehicle traffic has been on the beach?

Hi Mike, thank you for reminding me; I did mean to identify the source of those tire tracks. They were made by a vehicle that's working on dredging the beach. It seems to go into the water at low tide and dig up some of the sand, presumably in order to deepen the water. I have that in a photo as well, which I'll post in a few days.
