Forever Frozen

Took this last week while on a 3-day ski tour in British Columbia with my girlfriend. We spent sunrise near the Warren Glacier at the base of Mt Garibaldi. It was incredible to be surrounded by nothing but snow, ice, and rock - not a single tree visible in any direction!

Check the larger version, and if interested, my blog for some more images.

Abstract in many ways, but also very really. Sky seems a bit bright to me, but I think it's just from seeing overly darkened skies in other images.

Floris, I especially appreciate the kind of flow and weightlessness in your composition. You convey the atmosphere of this upcoming day impressively to me.

The receding diagonals of the ridges, gently moving the eye back amongst the wondrous blues and shadows, silky textures and touches of light make this truly exquisite, Floris. A stark landscape perhaps but without a doubt, stunning.

Gorgeous winter scene, Floris. Looks like you've adapted pretty darn well to the PNW weather and beautiful area up there too. Really like the contrast between the blue shaded area and the golden sunlit area. Brings back strong memories of my years in Alaska.
