What I find intriguing about this image is that it could be two separate images or one with totally blown out snow up to the horizon line.
What contributes to that dichotomy is the presence of more color in diagonal fence line in the foreground -- the "Man" part of "Man and Nature" -- yet with that part half covered with deep snow, as is the saplings growing up along the fence; where the mowers and plows left them alone.
And if the two taller trees in the background were heard, they might say something to the saplings growing along the fence like, "See how deep you are in the snow? Why couldn't you have been more like your brother here who didn't fall so far away?"
