Here's another shot of the famous and often photographed beach near Jökulsárlon, Iceland. You may remember my post Beached Jewel, showing the same chunk of ice. I chose a warmer white balance setting this time.

Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland

Canon 5D Mark II, Nikon 14-24 @ 14mm
ISO 100, f/11, 1 seconds
single exposure processed in LR4

best,
joerg

Joerg, I like this image alot! The foregound crystalline ice element is elegant and special. The wave action is very well captured and the floating ice pieces framing and directing the eye inward are just great. :toast: Chet

Stunning photo Joerg. I really like the diamond-like sparkles in the dark sand of the foreground and the way it grounds the image. :toast:

Great in your face foreground subject Joerg, and I too love the subtle tones. My eye is led right through the frame, and the water action is also sweet. Wonderful image! :toast:

This look great Joerg. I enjoy the sky color in particular, it fits perfectly with the rest of the scene.

Very interesting shot, Joerg. The exposure on the water is spot on. The composition is well balanced but a bit static for me. This is emphasized by the visually strong cloud line running through the sky. I might even consider cropping away the upper blocky part of the clouds and go 4x5 on this one.

Joerg, there is a stunning dynamic balance in your image for me. The centered and static position of the ice is amazingly counteracted by the mighty flow, and the warmer tones in the sky complement the icy elements interestingly.

Beautiful shot! The only thing I could suggest was to have tried to isolate ice crystal more. This place is atop my bucket list of photography destinations right now. Hope I can get there soon.

Joerg, this is wonderful! The ice looks like a jewel and enchances the smooth flow of the water,

Beautiful shot, what an amazing piece of ice. I feel like the composition could be improved upon, perhaps by being a little higher and closer to the ice, but you were there and I wasn't! Very nice work.
