This young male and his sister chased us from our campsite and stayed there for the entire day. Funny in a way, but a bit irritating as well... Anyway it did give us some good shooting opportunities. This was shot from underneath my vehicle.

Southern Kalahari, Botswana
Camera Model Canon EOS-1DX
Shutter Speed 1/1000 Sec.
Aperture Value f/7.1
ISO Speed 1250
Lens EF500mm f/4L IS USM
slight crop

Not many chances of a perspective like that. I am glad you used it. Nice that you got a bit of action as well.
Too bad the right eye is looking a bit "strange".

Looks like under your vehicle was a good place to photograph from as I really like this low perspective. Wonderful detail where it really counts and nice timing to get this. The larger image looks great, way to go.

Great image, almost gives the impression the lion is laughing at you. Thanks for sharing the image and the story.

Hey Vincent, what were you doing under the vehicle. A wonderful frame and I love the horizontal yawn, as most of the time, we are used to vertical yawn.

I'm getting the idea that you like low level shots Vincent.
Nice bands of colours from bottom to top and the colours in the lion itself are wonderful. The pose reminds me of my cat at home.

Gotta love those Kalahari lion antics, especially in the Botswana campsites. Love the angle here, as well as the expression, just wish there was a tad more space on the LHS...presume it's full frame on that side...

Can't get a much lower pov than this. The crisp detail is wonderful, shows all that's needed here. Love it.
