Taken last spring, waiting for spring to arrive for this year.
I liked how this Eurasian house sparrow looked amongst the blossums of our crabapple tree.

Canon T3i
1/250 @ F-9 ISO 400
Sigma 150-500 @ 500mm
tripod. About 50% crop

Wonderful setting and contrast to this. I like how the light shines right across the eye. The larger image seems a little soft compared to the smaller image. Nice job in getting this, way to go.

Love Sparrows and I'll post a few up one day. Simply have so much details and people tend to miss them. Wonderful shot with those colours, fantastic perch and nice eye contact. Great to see and love that pose.

All the best and very well taken.

Danny.

Nice composition, John. I like the pose and the blossoms. To my eye, the head seems just a trifle soft in the larger version.

A lovely pose and setting. Was the large image an upsize of the smaller one?
