A black & White image of posts along the Dutch oast used to break the tide, I converted this to monochrome because of the dull grey weather. It was better suited for this than a colour version because of a the fg waves showing more contrast and life in b&w. I personally love the detail on the posts and in the water. If you are ever near the southern Dutch coast, I highly reccomend making a photography stop at one of the beaches with these iconic lines, they make for a great foreground, even in dull weather.

Tech: Canon 1dsmkIi, 17mm, 2 sec ss, iso 50 and f/22

Wow, Jorne! This is a spectacular visual treat. I showed it to my wife just now, and she had exactly the same reaction to it. I tried to imagine your camera settings when I first looked at it, and was pretty much right on except I didn't realize the shutter was that slow since some of the waves are so sharp.

This is an image that is even better in the larger view. Thanks so much for sharing it, and if I ever get back to Holland again I'll definitely check out the coast.

I really like this. It has such strong initial impact, and then the details are super. The BW treatment worked great. There is something timeless about this. Well done!!

This is indeed a spectacular view. Great use of shutter speed here. And the black & white onversion is perfect. Great shot, Jorne
